The literary-political publishing house “Eastern Post” is open to collaboration with all political organizations and free journalists who are not afraid to reveal the truth and speak about all manifestations of political oppression, showing the connection between the workers’ movement and political struggle in all its forms. We appeal to all honest fighters against the existing pseudo-autocracy in Russia, regardless of their political views or class affiliation.
Addressing primarily Russian journalists and conscious workers, we also call on all those who are pressured and oppressed by the present political order of Russia, who strive for the liberation of the Russian people from its political slavery, to support publications dedicated to organizing the workers’ movement. Our publishing house lends its pages to expose all the atrocities and crimes of the Russian police government.
The tasks we have set for ourselves are extremely broad and comprehensive, and we would not have dared to undertake such tasks if we had not derived from our experience the unshakable, determined conviction that these are the urgent tasks of the whole future movement, if we had not secured the sympathy and promise of the full and constant support of several organizations in Russia and of individual groups working in different cities of the country.
This support is also expressed by a number of persons who do not belong to organizations, but who sympathize with the working people of Russia and render them no small service. We will exert all our efforts to properly fulfill the part of the common work we have chosen, and we strive for all Russian comrades to view our publishing house as their organ, where each group would report all information about the incipient movement, share their views, literature requests, experience, and everything they contribute to and take away from the movement.
The working class of Russia is cramped in underground activity, into which it has been driven by the tsars and executioners.
It is time for individual groups and circles to come out onto the road of open political struggle, to get in touch with their fraters in America, in England, in Europe,
to enlist their support and to involve in their political struggle hundreds of millions of people against the existing regime.
The Russian government wants to deceive the people by claiming that the desire for political protest is simply to commit outrage.
The working class, as the majority, must publicly declare and make it clear to the broadest masses that this is a lie, that the real source of violence, disorder and licentiousness is the Russian semi-autocray government,
the despotic rule of the police and officials.
